Argyreia
nervosa - Hawaiian Baby Woodrose is a perennial
climbing vine, also known as Elephant Creeper and Woolly Morning Glory.
Native to the Indian subcontinent and introduced to numerous areas worldwide,
including Hawaii, Africa and the Caribbean, it can be invasive, although
is often prized for its aesthetic value. Seeds of the Argyreia nervosa
may have once been used in sacramental rituals in the Pacific Islands,
where they were used by high priests. |

Desmanthus
illinoensis - Desmanthus from the Greek words desme, meaning "a
bundle" and anthos, meaning "flower". Illinoensis meaning "of Illinois".
Common, almost weedy in disturbed prairies, pastures and sandy thickets.Blooms
from June through August, most intensely in July. Illinois Bundleflower
has long been considered a cure for just about any itch. |

rheedii - A large woody liane or climber. It is also known as African
Dream Herb. It is often spelled as Entada rheedei, though initially published
as E. rheedii. The alternate spelling is to correctly honour Hendrik Adriaan

violacea - The Morning Glory, common ornamental vine with heart-shaped
leaves and bright blue, white, pink, or purple flowers and small, black
seeds. Because of its fast growth and prodigious seed production, many jurisdictions
consider it an invasive weed plant. |

A narrow
endemic species of the Uzbekistan flora and there are only a few places
where it grows. It is is a small deciduous shrub growing to about 1 meter.
Even within its small native region, there is little known about this plant. |

Dagga is an erect annual, loosely branched and can grow up to 2.4 m tall
in a single season. The flowers are borne in rounded, spiny clusters, that
encircle the stems so that it looks like the stems are growing right through
the middle of the clusters. |
Mitragyna
speciosa - You can raise this hardy, fast growing
tree almost anywhere! Kratom seeds are extremely difficult to come by because
the tiny pods explode, and the sliver-size seeds disperse into the air.
The seed pods must be harvestedt just as they brake open and release the

hostilis - In North-eastern
Brazil, this plant is called 'Jurema', a common flowering Leguminous tree.
Most of them are American, although some occur in Africa and Asia. Jurema
is native only to the dry regions of eastern Brazil. |

caerulea - Also known as the Egyptian Blue Lily
or Sacred Blue Lily, is a blue water-lily in the genus Nymphaea that grows
upon the Nile, amongst other locations. It has historically been known
as the Blue Lotus and Sacred Lotus. |
Papaver
somniferum -A large species of plant, and has sub-groups. Papaver
somniferum Paeoniflorum Group is a sub-type of poppy whose flowers are
highly double, and are grown in many colors. From the poppies
mid-Eastern orgins, its use had spread throughout Europe by 2000 B.C.
and by the 8th century AD Papaver somniferum was widely cultivated in
Arabia, India and China. |

harmala - Harmal is a perennial shrub with fleshy
spikey-looking leaves, growing up to 1 meter tall. It is a plant of the
family Nitrariaceae, native from the eastern Mediterranean region east
to India. |
Trichocereus
peruvianus - This cactus is native to the western slope of the
Andes in Peru. The Peruvian Torch is a cousin of the San Pedro cactus.
It is said to have a much higher alkaloid content than San Pedro and is
very fast growing. |
Psychotria
viridis - A shrub from the coffee family. This plant has many
local names, including Chacruna and Chacrona. It is a close relative of
the Ecuadorian Psychotria carthagensis, known as samiruka (amiruca), and
some dispute remains as to whether or not the two are actually separate
species. |
Rivea
corymbosa - A species of morning glory plants,
native throughout Latin America from Mexico in the North to Peru in the
South and widely naturalised elsewhere. It is a perennial climbing vine
with white flowers, often planted as an ornamental plant. This plant also
occurs in Cuba, where it usually blooms from early December to February.
Its flowers secrete a lot of nectar, and the honey the bees make from
it is very clear and aromatic. It is considered one of the main honey
plants from the island. |
